As a seasoned ring announcer for Northwest Fight Club (video proof), I have seen my fair share of one sided fights. It usually, but not always, goes like this.
The fighters are in their corners getting their last minute instructions from their cornermen and the bell rings. The more experienced fighter steps out of his corner expecting to tap gloves. Out of the other corner comes the rookie, going after his opponent like he has the last lighter in the crack house.
The more experienced fighter easily swats away the rookies punches and kicks, waits for an opportunity, which usually doesn’t take too long to appear and then strikes. And the first strike is followed in quick succession by a second, third and fourth, with a smattering of leg and head kicks thrown in for good measure.
it doesn’t take long to realize that one of the folks in the ring is seriously outmatched.
That being said, skip ahead to around the 3:00 mark and enjoy:
How many different defenses did Kirsten Powers try? First she said to put her down as one who doesn’t care, then said they weren’t intimidating, then said it was the same under Bush (tu quoque anyone) then tries to mock Megyn with the “scary black man” statement (appeal to ridicule anyone), then finally starts agreeing with Megyn.
I equate that to the tap out. She’d had enough. Just get her out of the ring.
Hope she has a good cut man…
