So today, President Obama announced the big news — there’s going to be a wage freeze for federal employees:
President Barack Obama on Monday proposed a two-year freeze of the salaries of some 2 million federal workers, trying to seize the deficit-cutting initiative from Republicans with a sudden, dramatic stroke. Though signaling White House concern over record deficits, the freeze would make only a tiny dent in annual deficits or the nation’s $14 trillion debt.
On Mark Levin tonight, he said it was equal to a guy about to wrack up $10,000 in credit card debt announcing he found a way to save $60.
I’m not going to to the math for a couple of reasons.
First off, they are making a pile of money already. And when I say pile, I mean pile. These guys are raking it in.

Federal workers make twice as much as workers in the private sector.
While the rest of the nation suffered through Obama’s first year in office, government workers increased their salaries by over $30,000 in 2009.
The federal compensation advantage has grown from $30,415 in 2000 to $61,998 last year. (USA Today)
So I’m not falling over myself to pat Obama on the back.
Also, it wouldn’t be an Obama action without a little Animal Farm style “All federal employees are equal, but some are more equal than others” type stuff:
“The proposal, which must be approved by Congress, would not apply to the military, but it would affect all others on the Executive Branch payroll.”
“It would not affect members of Congress or their staffs, defense contractors, postal workers or federal court judges and workers.”
“The freeze ‘will not impact step increases or bonuses for federal workers.’ It applies to cost-of-living increases, mainly. If an agency wants to give a worker an increase, they just need to increase their pay grade or boost their bonuses to make it happen.”
It’s all for show, to try to take the wind out of the Republican sails. I don’t think this is the beginning of Obama’s march to the middle. That would take something of substance. This is just an act to give the media something to fawn over.
But the one thing that no one is talking about is the fact that there are over 2,000,000 federal in the first place. My God!
That number should give even the most oblivious Glee fanatic an idea of how out of control and enormous the federal government has become.
Think about that for a second. Over 2,000,000 people had their wages frozen, and there is close to a million more who are shrugging and thinking, “Sucks to be you.”
Don’t freeze the wages. Cut the size of government. When that starts to happen, then we’ll be making progress.
This is no different than him saying he was freezing spending… except this, except that, except everything that matters… Typical Obama, promises with no merit, empty words.

I disagree. This is the begining of the march to the middle. Obama is not a slick as the original Slick Willy, and may not pull off a second term like Bill did, but it is a proven method to regain the whitehouse after huge mid-term losses. I do agree that this is not the substantive move he needs.
I agree, cut the size of government cause that means billions instead of a few million dollars. Of course, the employees from the executive branch are exempt from this law so Obama is still taking care of his people along with congress.
Where is the outrage? Our own govt. treats us like common criminals in prison (patdowns & body scans). The Intolerable Acts (5 of them) provoked Americans in 1774 to take a stand.
With that said, you need to read a new thriller out where Americans finally do take a stand against their own government. It’s a great read & possibly about our true destiny in history. I recommend it.

Actually, Obama needs to be laying off federal employees as we see in the private sector. I mean, when is the last time a federal employee has been fired? Not often.
