While I don’t think it’s a great idea to judge someone on one single thing they say, there are times when one thing is shocking enough to shift your opinion, even if it’s just a little.

I don’t know much about Justin Bieber, other than he’s a kid who sings and seems to have a kind of goofy haircut. But I was pleasantly surprised to see this quote attributed to him in an interview for the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone.

“I really don’t believe in abortion. It’s like killing a baby?”

Asked about abortion in cases of rape he had this to say…

“Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.”

There’s no doubt that pro-baby-killing forces in the entertainment business will be working very hard to “enlighten” Bieber about how important it is for women to have the right to kill babies, but I hope this young Christian kid from Canada has the conviction to stick to his values and the balls to never be afraid to talk about them.

I’m still not a fan of his music, but I think maybe there’s something worthy of respect in this kid.
