My mother used a phrase when I was growing up to describe a situation where you lost either way. I’m sure you’ve heard it.
Whenever she found herself between a rock and a hard place, she’d say, “Well, I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t.”
Welcome to the world of the white Herman Cain supporter:
Herman Cain, I never heard of this guy, but apparently he ran Godfather’s Pizza, and Republicans say they love him so they’re not racist – right.
This is how they do it. First, they get people like Janeane Garofalo to go on MSNBC and say that the Tea Party is “a bunch of teabagging rednecks,” adding “this is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up.”
But then when the same bunch of “teabagging rednecks” support Herman Cain, a black man, Bill Maher shows up to tell the world it’s only to give the appearance that we are not racist.
Never mind the fact the Tea Party’s sole reason for existing “is about hating a black man in the White House.” We’re going to go ahead and put a different black man in the White House because the only thing more important than our hatred of dark skinned people is what liberals think about us.
This is liberal logic. If you tried to hard to make sense of it, I recommend one Aleve now, and another after four hours if head pain continues.

I’m sure you can’t stand the ironies here. It’s kind of like during the 2008 election, when Obama was accused both of being an elitist and a socialist at the same time. That’s right; he thinks he’s so much better than everyone else that he wants to tax himself and other wealthy people more to help the poor. Since, you know, that’s what elitists do. . . increase their own taxes in order to help the poor. Makes perfect sense to me.
I’m sure you think this is a witty and very piercing “gotcha” moment for you, however, it is possible to be an elitist and a socialist at the same time. It depends on your definitions.
For example, if you define an elitist the way most people do, an elitist is “A person who believes that they are superior to others (and thus deserve
favored status) because of their intellect, social status, wealth, or
other factors.”
And of course, we know what a socialist is and it isn’t about helping the poor. It’s about bringing everyone to the same level. The rich drop to the middle, the poor rise. But what about the socialist? The “elite?”
They are above this, of course. They have better lives because they deserve it. They need the luxury because their job is hoarder than the rest.
Think I’m wrong? Show me a socialist country without an aristocracy.
So yes, Obama is a snooty elitist, and a socialist.
The irony is that you came here to be all smug, but now you’re looking rather silly after having your smugness used against you.
Thank you and come again.
No irony, really. An elitist, socialist would say that we are all equal, but that some are more equal than others. This attitude has dominated socialist leadership throughout the 20th century.
We’re ALL racists- Human racists! Get over it. As long as we conservatives continue to worry about what names we’re called, we deserve to continue losing. This exactly what bringing a knife to a gunfight looks like, and the right is going for a Doctorate in this field. If the right is unable to find or grow a pair, we deserve exactly what the left is feeding us, and will only find solace in the eminent murder of the Golden Goose and the attendant resurgence of fierce individualism and an environment where those who contribute eat, and the rest don’t. Our founders put it all on the line for us, and warned us that the time would come again when such measures would be necessary. Guess what- here we are. Talk is cheap, and time is short. Look your children and grandchildren in their faces, then look in the mirror if you seek champions or heroes. The Save America Fairy has left the building, folks; it is on us. Choose your camp, and soon… Realistically, Herman Cain may be able to buy us some time, but our problems are systemic and quite resistant to half measures, so we are still faced with swallowing some bitter medicine. This is the price of our recent apathy. Hopefully it will taste nasty enough that we will learn something… and an environment where those who contribute eat, and the rest don’t.
