A 14 year old girl is reported to have been raped at the Occupy Dallas rally, but the protesters claim the runaway told them she was 19.
That’s right. The brain children of the left are blaming the victim:
Dallas Police continue to investigate whether a teenage runaway was sexually assaulted by an adult male at the Occupy Dallas encampment behind City Hall.
A source within the Dallas Police Department who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation said the girl ran away from home in Garland last month and that she is now refusing to cooperate with investigators. She initially told officers that she had sex with a man in his early twenties and had engaged in sexual activity with several other people.
Some members of the group told CBS 11 the girl identified herself as a 19-year-old and never knew she was 14.
Could a 14 year old pass herself off as a 19 year old?
I doubt it. Maybe I worked with sex offenders too long, but there’s a part of me that thinks Mr. Twentysomething knew something was off, but went and did the deed anyway.
And so did other folks.
I’m not taking their words as gospel.
Especially after the way they did their best to denigrate her in the press:
Furthermore, someone needs to start looking at this girl’s background if she’s out on the streets at 14 having sex with anyone who’ll have her. Someone has damaged this girl in her past.
Where is the empathy from this liberal group? They’re too busy covering their own hind ends to care about her.

I agree… I’m against OWS, but I can show you many 14 year old girls that look like they are 26. sorry… and don’t go destroying my rep cuz I’m telling the truth. a little word of advice to anyone out there looking for sex. there is a reason you don’t do it on the first date. sorry to offend you, I’m a fan of your blog, but I dislike the sex witch hunt against men. it gets to the point where honesty is punished.

Wow. Seriously? You’re not seeing the forest for the trees, Noah. A young girl has said she was raped and like the OWS protesters, you are saying she perhaps came across as being older than 14, so that makes the charge of rape understandable in some way. Yikes.

I don’t think I’m on a sex witch hunt against men. I just think you could recognize a adolescent body if you saw one, even a 14 year old one.
I’ve worked with sex offenders long enough to know they can justify anything. I’m not willing to give these guys the benefit of the doubt on this one.
And Chakam, she’s not saying she was raped. She’s not cooperating as far as I know. But sex with a child her age is statutory rape.

I get that, Duane. My response to Noah was simply that I find it horribly ignorant that he would even hint that since she may have looked over 14, that this incident was understandable. I do understand the statutory rape issue. Regardless, this happened at an OWS protest. And like the article stated, the OWS crowd is seeking to deflect responsibility for this occurrence.

For the record, I never claimed the girl was arrested anywhere, not that it matters. She could have been picked up at an IHOP. It doesn’t change the premise.
Regarding your two points,
1) Just because someone isn’t a card carrying Democrat who supports Obama and Pelosi doesn’t mean they aren’t on the left. Why don’t they support them? Are they not liberal enough for them? Are they not socialist enough for them? Are they not radical enough for them? Or is the group so right wing they can’t stand the pair?
2) Your point is a combination of a hasty generalization and an ad hominem, making it doubly illogical. It does not disprove the premise either.
