TSA Patdown Leaves Passenger in Tears; Behold, Liberty

New video from the nation’s airports showing a woman who was trying to get from Point A to Point B. In between, the federal government:

Here’s the sad fact. If tomorrow, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood joined Big Sis Janet Napolitano in announcing the dissolution of the Transportation Security Administration and airports across the United States were responsible for their own security, there would be much rejoicing.

However, what you wouldn’t see announced, but would be implemented, would be a system of regulations that required private security at airports to essentially be the same as the TSA.

They would not simply allow every airport to decide its own policy.

Personally, if the free market were allowed to dictate, I would choose to fly on the airline that handed out Tasers when they checked your boarding passes. Or Sig Sauers with rubber bullets.

An armed airplane is a polite airplane.

Maybe I don’t get it, I just don’t understand what is the problem with security. I get a patdown everytime I go in the Co. Court House. No big deal. It is just a patdown. Stop it and watch how fast something happens.

Court is a government building.  An airport/airline is a private business.  The government forcing you to undergo searches to travel on a private business isn’t cool.

If a private business wants to provide extra security for their passengers, and the passengers understand this and choose to undergo the searches, fine.  I imagine no one would want to fly an airline with zero security, but you should not have a government agent patting you down so you can get from one place to another.

And as for the national security issue, the government can allow the airlines to protect their property with extreme prejudice.  For example:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reRRgEET6Kw

Sad for her and for the untold number who go through even worse humiliation.

This crap is wrong.  Submitting to it is wrong.  I can still remember when anyone could go into an airport, or a school, or a police station, or a courthouse, without having to go through this dehumanizing sick process.  We have submitted to power tripping control freaks at federal, state, and local level.  I’m sorry we gave up our rights.
