Since I have started blogging, I have tried to increase my ability to provide content.
First, I started podcasting, which created a need for a different set of equipment. There were microphones and mixers and XLR cords to buy, which my wife surprisingly allowed. There was no promise this would all work out, after all.
Then, after having traveled to the first Smart Girls Summit and broadcast live, I started taking my show on the road. At my second CPAC, I had all my podcasting equipment, but no camera. One of the guys from RFC radio was smart enough to recognize the need for video of the great interviews we were getting and opened my eyes to another platform I should be using.
Video.
By the time my third CPAC rolled around, I was pretty much self sufficient. I had audio and now, thanks to a Flip camera, video, so I was able to capture great interviews like this classic one with Richard Dreyfuss:
The next CPAC, I didn’t get my usual spot on the right side of the room, so my interviews looked like this:
It was during that interview with Chuck Woolery that I realized I was only recording on the left channel of audio. My mixer of 4+ years had crapped out on me. I’m still using it today, but it no longer records in stereo. And my faithful Flip camera was recently damaged also.
My point is, the equipment I use has taken some wear over the years in my effort to bring quality content to the site and I’d like to upgrade it. That’s where you come in.
I have created an Amazon Wish List for the equipment I would like to own in order to bring quality content to the site. Some of this stuff is fairly inexpensive. Some of it isn’t.
But it would help improve my overall ability to generate content. For example, when you watch those interviews, the background is very busy and distracting. One of the things I added to the Wish List is a green screen and a lighting kit. This would essentially give me the ability to build a set right at CPAC, making my interviews look far more professional. There are other items on the list that would build on this.
I would love to be able to take this equipment with me to Texas next month for FreePAC. If I get an interview with Glenn Beck, I’d rather not record it with a broken down Flip and a barely functioning audio mixer.
I know it’s a lot, but that’s why I’m posting it. It’s a lot to me also.
So, if you can afford it, please consider helping my take my game to the next level. And if you know someone who has money and a generous spirit, please send them my way. Some of these items require deep pockets.
Thanks in advance. Here’s the list.

Is this an updated link to your wishlist? I would like to buy you something but I can’t figure out how to actually locate your wishlist.
