DNC New Media Outreach Director: “It’s Constitutional. Bitches”

I sit back sometimes and wonder if I have the skillset needed to work in communications. I tend to get scatter-brained. I forget things if I don’t write them down.

But there are three things I do know.

First, never write anything down that you wouldn’t want your mother to read.

Two, never do anything that will hurt your clients brand.

And three, nothing ever gets deleted from the Internet.

So how can these jackasses be working so high up in communications if they don’t get these things yet:

According to his Twitter feed, Greg Greene is the New Media Outreach Director for the Democratic National Committee. He’s since deleted the Tweet, but nothing ever really goes away on the InterWebNets:

Not to be outdone, Patrick Gaspard, the Executive Director of the DNC sent this tweet:

Stay classy, lefties.

Separated at Birth: John Roberts and…? It is not personal guys, it is just the law…

Glenn Reynolds is more sanguine about this decision, thinking that Roberts may have intentionally lost the battle to win the war (and take on the commerce clause). I am less optimistic on that. Still, if this is a tax can it be filibuster proof? If that is the case 50 votes and Mitt Romney as president (and a GOP Veep) is enough to make this go away.

Actually, it’s not Constitutional but “extra-Constitutional”. The Constitution was a contract between “We the People” and a new Federal government (with the States as the peoples representatives and intermediaries) which gave that new government certain limited powers and responsibilities which were carefully proscribed to avoid future tyranny. In the last few weeks, we have seen that (i) the executive branch of the government can refuse to fulfill its Constitutional responsibilities to carry out the laws passed by the legislative branch with impunity (ii) that the Constitutional limitations on the governments intrusion into the lives of its citizens no longer exist, and (iii) that Roberts went where even the governments own shyster didn’t go to justify the Obamacare monstrosity demonstrates that none of the three branches of the Federal Behemoth can be trusted to limit its growth or intrusiveness into the lives of its citizens. Effectively, the result is that the Constitution has now been nullified by the government which it created and that the social contract between government and governed is now null and void. The interesting remaining question is how the other parties to the contract may respond.

    Semper Fi!
