An All American Has Passed: RIP Andy Griffith

I know he was a shill for the Affordable Care Act, but Andy Griffiths was more than one ad. He was a great actor who brought joy to my family’s television screen.

He was 86:

Say the name Andy Griffith, and you’ve said something about America.

Griffith, who as Sheriff Andy Taylor on the actor’s namesake 1960s TV comedy kept the peace and represented a heartland ideal, died Tuesday, the actor’s friend Bill Friday told WITN News.

Go ahead and try not to whistle along with this:

RIP Andy.

I noted it too. I did not care for Andy Griffith’s personal politics (he was very much a Hollywood liberal hostile to conservatives), but I loved the Andy Griffith Show. RIP Andy.

The Andy Griffith show was one of the best ever. Can’t hold a man’s politics against him after he’s gone.

Of course, if only he’d had socialized medicine, he probably would have lived to be 200 years old.

He would never have made it to 200. A death panel would have had the final say so.

You’re mistaken. When we have socialized medicine everything will be awesome and we’ll all live forever in a magical paradise. And Obama will be our Rock Star Czar!
