If you live close to the border, there’s a possibility you could be confronted by the Border Patrol at a checkpoint. This guy decided he had had enough of it and wasn’t going to cooperate with them anymore.
And, as I have advised you, he videotaped it:
One thing I learned from this video is, you don’t have to cooperate and they will let you pass almost unmolested.
I did think the guy was a bit of a douche in the way he was talking to these guys and could have done the same thing in a more polite manner.
If you find yourself in a similar situation and have just had enough of the hassle, just do this:
There are four questions you should ask:
1. Why are you stopping me?
2. Do you have reason to believe I am not a US Citizen?
3. Are you charging me with a crime?
4. Am I free to go?
While that’s advice from a YouTube commenter, it’s sound advice.
The only thing I would add is, stay focused. Control the conversation. If you are free to go, then go. If you are not, why not?
And for your own sake, get video of it.

We can’t secure the border, but we can stop and hassle citizens INSIDE the country?
I think the guy was exactly the correct amount of douchy for that situation. Everyone should be exactly that douchy when dealing with that.
Been there done that. I dislike those checkpoints too, as well as the ones the People’s Republic of California has set up to inspect any fresh fruit you might be carrying. No joke.
I admire the man’s courage and I, too, never collaborate with the police.
The guy has guts. I’ll give him that. Why ARE they shutting down border patrol stations on the border and retreating back into the US to harrass citizens of a once free nation?
